We are seeking Resident Aides (RA) Caregivers to work in our facility in Northridge, CA of about 35-40 patients. This is an interim housing environment which can hold up to 60 patients. These sites support clients with mental health issues, substance abuse history, and some medical conditions.

RESPONSIBILITIES CAN INCLUDE

• Take vital signs daily and record clients’ physical condition, behavior, and other and bodily functions, reporting any drastic changes to the nurse.

• While most clients are most clients are completely ambulatory and can care for themselves, there may be occasions where they will require assistance to shave, shower, or dress.

• Observe clients taking medication, and note all relevant information, including refusals to take meds.

• Perform laundry duties

• Change bedding on a schedule or when required

• Build relationships with the clients to help them feel welcome and supported.

• Learn and utilize a variety of de-escalation techniques, working to achieve a calm and safe environment for clients.

• Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Experience

• Experience taking vitals, including using both automated and manual blood pressure cuffs

• Experience observing and recording medication 

• Previous RA experience, preferably within a residential care facility, but not required

Upon hire, you will need to have:

• Current CPR card

• Physical done in the last year

• TB test done in the last year
